I know supply trucks were probably added for the sole purpose of sending funds to friends but, for the sake of 1v1s and FFA, maybe Supply Trucks can also hold 5 infantry like an unarmed APC as well.
I know for a brief moment in the campaign, you can actually store units in the ally controlled trucks. It should make up for the fact that the Allied countries lost their APC in favor of Russia having it (like their armored couch in WW2). If this wasn't an intended change (it must of been a pretty interesting coincidence).
How about, you could put up to 5 troops in them, and send them to a team mate barracks, and instead of getting the 500 cash you would get the troops transferred to the team mate? So Soviets could transfer flame troops say.

Sound like a good idea too me but why instead maybe it is better the receiving player get both then or?
I was thinking there should be a cost for doing it. So you get the transfer but have to pay for the privilege. An allies player stuffing a Chinook with flame troops is a powerful thing...
Of course you can already do it but without the one player control over everything.
From time to time I when I'm not paying attention I build supply trucks and ore trucks in a 2/5 ratio.
Then I notice I am not producing infantry and I feel a little silly.
I would like there to be some point in them, albeit marginal, to these things, as they're not great scouts as the finder gets a rather nice crate.
I would like a supply truck to increase rate of fire (or rather, reload speed), by 5% for allied land units in a small (two cell?) radius. Nothing overwhelming, and not worth building for their own sake, but just enough to give you the edge in an otherwise equal engagement and make you feel like you've not totally wasted the money.
I have suggested before that they could be used to upgrade oil derricks and so earn more cash each time they deliver some. (Or engi to do the same thing.)
one thing i always found funny ... is the fact that it makes no sense to steal (hijack) a supply-truck ....
supply-truck costs 500
hijacker costs 500
when you hijack a supply-truck (which already is a rare moment for itself) you would lose the hijacker and still have to manage driving back the stolen truck to your own base ... which then gives you only the 500 back ...
you would like to think that theres more behind it ... but there isnt ...
i agree that the supply-truck needs more love ... more purpose/usability .. for all factions
one freaky idea would be ... to make long-range vehicles (such as arty and V2) need to reload ...
either you send artys and V2's to the service-depot ... or you send those supply trucks to the empty artys/V2's ... supplying them automatically with limited munition ...
