They haven't had me killed yet. Had a few close calls but I made it out unscathed lol.

I never understood the appeal of flak trucks. They're so lackluster imo and yeah shocks are great and all but if you're letting your opponent mass flak trucks and shocks you're doing something wrong.
As Soviet or allies going against Russia you should be pressuring the fuck out of them the entire game.

Also going to throw out the fact that if the soviets had better faction choice shock trooper spam wouldn't be as big of a deal. Ukraine blows. Plain and simple. Give me a soviet faction with air to air migs and longer ranged SAMs as its perks. Go ahead and take away paratroops and the flak truck to balance it. I'd play that faction all day.
Flaks are good against anything the allies have to pressure Russia. Ukraine has IC'd APCs and that's about it. Shocks and flaks are so cheap so it's not hard to let your opponent mass them.

*Dogs are actually a pretty good option to take out shockies, keep them back and once the shock troopers are engaged attack, they can take out a ton vv quickly.

PersianImmortal: Flaks might seem lackluster in a Soviet mirror match, but they can deal with all the Allied damage dealers
(mass Med tanks are easily taken care of by infantry, as they have neither the speed nor the damage to deal with them).

In no way do I consider Ukraine underpowered, the parabombs are an amazing support power
(they may be lackluster in 20k games on maps with endless resources or Tox maps, but they do sure pack a punch in 1v1 or 2v2 matches).
As of the recent spy buff, my personal faction tier list is Russia >>> Ukraine/Germany/England >>> France.
Air to air migs would be super broken, as they have the speed to outrun Longbow missiles.
Also, +1 to Newwe, I too would love to watch a match vs Murto!

If you're letting a soviet continually iron curtain flaks against your arty creep you're doing something wrong.
And air to air migs wouldn't be OP. Longbows need a buff anyways. And the faction with air to air migs would lose the flak truck to balance it out.
And parabombs are shit compared to Russia. I've never lost a game or even really been set back by them.

Could you possibly post some replays up on here? It would be nice to see what kind of opponents you've been up against and whether it was their fault and not Ukraine's.

Playing some games of RA I have some understanding with it now. (However am still not good)

Could we test in the bleed/playtest version to remove the 1000 vs no armor? So atleast they don't one shot infantry? Original RA they take 2 shots for e1 as their damage is base lined at 35.

Ive also noticed Demo trucks don't have an ability to right click/detonate on enemy targets. Is this a bug or intention?

Shock troopers are good. I like them. I would even use them if they were not so good. The shock trooper + Tesla tank combination is maybe not really good without anti air, but the constant zapping of every enemy in range is so satisfying.
Personally I would prefer stronger shock troopers with a higher price. The change of health 100 -> 80 and price 400 -> 450 or 500 sounds pretty good. Changing the health to 60 sounds pretty extreme - that's 40%. I didn't test it, but a small change would be better - if it is not enough, we can still change it again later.

How to nerf tesla inf ?

reduce speed a bit, they are carrying a backpack/heavy war gear

reduce hitpoints by 20% or more

price at $400 is ok
, other inf cost $100 or so less, we have a nice price scale from 100 to 400 and its not the price as such that makes tesla inf OP its their damage dishing and absorbtion ability which is WAY over the top. Have no idea how that edit got thru playtest ! , so obviously OP as they are


NOTE :
Price should not be the primary nerfing/buffing metric. All units should behave in a plausible manner, get their plausability right first THEN set the price after.


At the end of the day we dont want supermen wandering the battlefeild. If infantry are OP then its just detracting from reality and making tanks, planes and ships 2nd rank items when they should be 1st rank attackers

Tanya is a superwoman, but you only get one at a time and she has to be micromanaged to use C4 explosive. ( her pistol rate of fire still needs to be nerfed ) by at least 20%

Tanks got nerfed so much or left behind statwise so much that no one uses them

For over 100 years now tanks have been central to attack...only in openRA are they effectively nerfed to the point of unusability

Q how did this happen in the first place ?

In the old game, tanks were the only useful units at all. OpenRA has made most if not all units more viable to use in competitive play.
Tanks get left behind so every game doesnt end up like this
