In Starcraft 2 you can select the colors by hitting the tab button and changing them to red and yellow on the players screen. This might be helpful then from how the colors are behaving right now. IE:
I cant do white (cnc95 original) because it matches with the background. Fair enough. So it gives me pink.
Then I cant choose blue because it matches with the terrain. (blue tiberium) ..Alright.
Then I cant do green because it matches with a non combat unit. Odd.
The first try: White, gave me pink.
Second try: White, gave me yellow.
Third try: White, gave me a super dark red. (Nearly black which btw is hard to read text)
The color shaders option as in SC2 would fix this issue instantly. And for those whom arent bothered with the colors can leave it as it is on their screen.
If this is hard to do, then I can just be a random jack of all trades random nill of the color and keep my settings on the classic nod unit color lol

Agree that it's something of minor issue currently when hosting bigger games; a 'tournament game' option or whatever in the host's Lobby options to enable strict control over player colours (perhaps limiting to the available colours in RA95 + C&C Gold?) would be nice.
I commonly host comp-stomps and for the sake of simplicity (and not knowing which AI just put down a Missile Silo) I would usually just lump all of the Computer players with the same or a very similar colour. Can't do that now!

Actually, the guy raises an interesting point.
Why WOULDNT we have a in-game color trigger?
Like.. Enemies become red, allies become blue and you become yellow or something.
Sure, it'd filter out WHICH enemy you're attacking or WHICH ally you're looking at, but if it is to deal with moments of 'augh these colors', it might be a nice addition?
