Go to your \My Documents\OpenRA folder and open "Settings" and make sure there is no "mods: " line. If there is, DELETE THE ENTIRE LINE. This happens to me all the time.
There are lots of "Log" files in there, too. Try opening them up and looking at them.
Also, what version of OpenRA are you using? What have you tried? Etc.

QuesTMajoR, give us exception.log. In Windows, sometimes just running of OpenRA again helps. )

I used the Latest Version according to the Main Page.

What video card or GPU do you have? Try to run game with alternative Cg renderer. Use 'Graphics.Renderer=Cg' parameter in command line for it.

If you don't know how to do command line (like most people), go to your

Code: Select all

/My Documents/OpenRA/settings.yaml
and open it with notepad.
Then change, under "Graphics", add a new line with a tab saying "Renderer=Cg"
So it looks like

Code: Select all

Player:
	Name: Tacozmeister
	ColorRamp: 145,211,180,10

Game:
	TeamChatToggle: True

Sound:
	MusicVolume: 0.164
	SoundCashTickType: Normal

Graphics:
	Mode: Windowed
	Renderer: Cg

Server:
	Map: 2f069fcc457ae941388db3594932c9a93d59615d

Debug:
Note: Does not need to look exactly like that, just "Renderer: Cg" is sufficient.
Note#2: I dunno if that graphics card is supported, but that's how you start with a Cg renderer like suggested.

Does OpenRA works on Windows7 ? Because It happened again, I changed the settings.yml but nothing happens. It keeps saying that OpenRA has encountered an error and Needs to be closed.

T.T

BTW: whart does "Cg" means on the Renderer?
I have Intel that has OpenGL Renderer btw.

OpenRA works wonderfully on Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04, I know that for a fact because I use both of those. It probably works on all Windows variants.
The Cg renderer is a renderer produced by NVidia and can be downloaded at a multitude of places and it does not need an NVidia graphics card.

Can you give us your "graphics.log"? It was mentioned in a previous log file.

I believe someone had a problem before with shaders; this is due to a really old graphics card.

Not to sound like a dick, but I don't think you can turn off shaders or anything. You simply need a newer graphics card.
That's my speculation; I don't know. I don't know much about the inner workings of OpenRA. :P

No,
Vendor: Microsoft Corporation
means that you are using Windows drivers without too much OpenGl support. Download official ones from Intel.
