Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 17 - Standings and Statistics

A few stats about the length of games this season. This season featured the shortest longest game of any season, Radical vs Upps, at exactly 34 minutes. The average game length was down very slightly, but not as low as Seasons 9 to 11.

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 16 - Weekly Highlights

Season Wrap-up and Prizes

We finished off the season with a discussion on milkman's stream about how everyone did this season along with a special guest! The stream was full of spoilers if you've not finished watching games from this season yet, but it was a fun night. The stream also included ...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 17 - Standings and Statistics

In the last post we saw that the overall rifle-rocket ratio hasn't changed significantly, but this season did see a decrease in builds using 1:1 and a corresponding increase in builds with roughly six or more rifles to rockets. In the next graph we can see that this increase in high rifle count ...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 17 - Standings and Statistics

Earlier we touched on the impact of queue limits on static defences, but I also wanted to quickly cover infantry. We can see that there was a significant drop in the average number of rifles and rockets queued this season, with rifles dropping from 200 last season to 160 this season, and rockets ...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 17 - Standings and Statistics

There are various ways of grouping build orders and I've never found something I'm completely happy with. This shows five extensions of double ref - delayed SD, standard SD timing, everything else with standard WF timing, ref sell and all other double ref (predominantly this is when playing triple ...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 17 - Standings and Statistics

One of the most controversial balance changes pre-season was the introduction of queue limits. The general consensus post-season seems to be that they were high enough to avoid being painful during the game (especially when compared with the limits used in the Red Alert Experimental League). In my ...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 17 - Standings and Statistics

Tech building usage has remained fairly constant over the past few seasons. There was a dip in radar tech and above when compared with last season, but it was still within the same ballpark we've seen since Season 12.

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 17 - Standings and Statistics

Looking at the individual subfactions and again restricting to the Any vs Any matches then we get roughly 25-50 matches per subfaction. In this graph we'd expect Russia and Ukraine to have been played similar numbers of games, and the Allied factions a little bit lower (since the game chooses the ...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 17 - Standings and Statistics

Season 17 saw a similar number of players as recent seasons, and this resulted in a similar number of matches being played.

001_GamesPerSeason.png

Looking at the raw performance of Allies and Soviets shows one of the worst balanced seasons ever - 56.4% of games being won by Allies. This is just ...

Fazzz vs Gargamel (Grand Final)

Week 8

Fazzz vs sir123 (Semi-final)

The first of semi-final was between Fazzz (1st) and sir (4th). Despite sir, Gargamel and Upps all finishing the group stage on 15 points, then the head-to-heads between them resulted in sir finishing below the other two. Fazzz and sir split their group stage ...

Week 7

Master's Match of the Week

Going into the start of this week the top six players each had between 11 and 15 points. Fazzz and sir were the top two players, and each only had a single match left. In order to claim the top spot then sir needs to win more games against Upps than Fazzz does ...

Week 6

Master's Match of the Week

At the start of the week Fazzz had already qualified for playoffs, and looked extremely likely to be joined by sir (I think there was a weird edge case where sir could have been pushed out in a four-way tie on 15 points). The remaining two places could go to ...
