Are the solo campaigns available?

Post by NicholasReed »

I'm new to C&C and I was curious in trying out the serie, which is why I'm interested in OpenRA, that and the fact that I have more faith in fans than EA for a legit remaster.X Trench Run I wanted to know if the solo campaigns for Tiberium Dawn and Red Alert 1 were available in their full ength along with the FMVs?

The campaigns are still a work-in-progress, with some of the later maps still on the to-do list and older maps that could use tweaks. Cutting up my post from elsewhere:
OpenRA is a different engine entirely and is closer to a remake. It's flexible (which helps games like Combined Arms) but quite a few campaign maps are missing until they can be rebuilt.

If you wish to experience the full campaigns as they were (more or less), CnCNZ has a page about EA's freeware releases that can lead you to full installers for CnC1, RA1, and Tiberian Sun that are patched for current hardware. There may be a learning curve with the mouse controls where left-click is used for almost everything but deselection. Tiberian Sun may be finicky with borderless fullscreen but it should be otherwise fine.
I'll forewarn that the first CnC game is unkind, especially in the Covert Operations maps. Red Alert shouldn't be too rough.
