Replicate main menu title screen light blue for RA building sprites

Post by dxxds0 »

Hey folks,
I want my RA player color to match the soft pale blue shown on the base building in OpenRA’s main menu title screen, but vanilla preset Blue and single RGB custom colors don’t render correctly:
Built-in #4660BC Blue is too dark and dull in previews
Custom single hex colors added in settings.yaml lack proper remap gradient shading, creating flat, ugly lighting on SHP structures
The title screen art uses a smooth, lighter periwinkle blue with dedicated highlight/mid/shadow color layers that I cannot replicate with standard color options.
Could anyone explain how to set up a custom player color paired with a matching full remap palette gradient to get this exact title screen blue on all in-game buildings?

Hi, you'd have to try to modify your `player.yaml` file to include the contents of `campaign-palettes.yaml` on the "Player:" entry (i.e. move everything under "^Palettes:" to under "Player:"). Although thinking about it I don't know if IndexedPlayerPalette works when you don't have campaign player names. In MP/Skirmish games those would be Multi0, Multi1, etc. so you'd have to try that out.
