Edge scrolling broken at top edge on macOS Tahoe in borderless fullscreen

Post by sfk »

After updating to macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 (25A362), I’ve run into an issue where edge scrolling at the top of the screen no longer works properly in OpenRA:

– When I move the cursor to the top edge, the map doesn’t pan consistently.
– Left, right, and bottom edge scrolling still behave normally.
– This occurs in borderless fullscreen mode.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch OpenRA 20250330 on macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 (25A354).
2. Start a match where vertical scrolling is needed (e.g. Ultimate Chamber).
3. Move the mouse to the top edge of the screen. Play the game as usual and attempt to scroll up. (Hint: Wait for the issue to surface; it can appear after clicking on another screen or window)
4. The map fails to scroll.

Environment:
– External monitor setup

Workaround:
Using "Fullscreen Legacy", which works with minor issues:
– Lobby screen sometimes opens windowed
– Around 1 in 20 games, the mouseovers don't work
- Clicking on another window (in another screen) minimises the game window

Connected issue:
This seems related to a wider macOS Tahoe mouse input change — other games have reported the exact same problem with top-edge scrolling since upgrading. See Apple’s official discussion thread here:
