First 16 to sign up get the spot.
If it turns out we have close to 32, then I guess I'll have to host another tournament for the other ppl at some point later down the line.
EDIT
OR
we could deny access to the tournament for any one already participating in the Master's division. (as in: Are you in the Master's Division? then you don't get to enter my tourney)
This way we could have a nice set up where potential players are not scared from seeing Master's divisionists sign up
but we have about a month or so to discuss this
By June 1st I'd like to set up the final post for the announcements and sign ups

Rated top-bottom intuitively (not necessarily a general best-worst maprank so don't hold it against me), decent maps to use for tournament play. Pick and choose:

Unfortunately I don't have too much time to fix up anything advanced but I threw something quick together:

The .png added on top of a dark background gets to look like this.

I do have the Gimp image so all text/objects can be adjusted. Also I've only started to use Gimp so I got a lot to learn about how that program works.

Gatekeeper said he will gladly participate in a Post Finals bonus match vs the winner to also defend his crown.
But what's more intersting is the fact he suggested we'd also block out the players that naturally promote to the Masters in the GL. as well as the Hidden Route player.
Which in turn gave me the idea to allow those that are demoted to Minions to be allowed to enter the tournament, so as they can fight for a chance to stay in the Masters.
Thus upcoming Saturday I am going to announce the tournament.

You know what? This has become far too complicated for what it's worth.
My tournament was originally meant as an event that had nothing to do with the RA:GL and while the original prize and idea seemed like fun, the complication that comes with the Hidden path, promotions and demotions by default and what not is too complicated for me to handle at this moment.
(honestly my mind is currently occupied with the new upcoming job that allows me to work full time during the day for the first time in 3 years, and I can't really keep a straight thought on this tournament)
That is why my final decision is that the whole prize of the GL Masters is thrown out the window.
Which means that every one that wants can enter.
I'm going back to the original plan and I'm sticking with it.

Just don't complicate things:
anyone can enter, if a non RAGL member wins then he joins the masters.. since he has proven that he can beat everyone else, including masters that have played.
If a master wins nothing happens.
The prize is a really nice extra that makes this tournament way more interesting. Don't ditch it and dont make it complicated. The original setup (as described above) was perfect.

FAQ:
Q:Why not double elimination? That way ppl who get eliminated may still have a chance.
A: I am going to handle the organization of this tournament as a bit of a World Cup Soccer. there's no double elimination in there either. You get 1 shot. You mess up: you're out.
Also to prevent players from thinking they don't need to show up for their match without any real consequences.
Also, I only have a limited amount of time each day that I can stream and I don't want this tournament to drag on forever.
Q: Why stream all of the matches, and not let the players warm up off stream and only show 1 match which will count?
A: Players are able to get a feel for each other off stream in their own time. On stream it's game on, all or nothing.
In my eyes the fun and competitive aspect of a Best of 3, is that they fight the first match, learn from their mistakes and take advantage of that in the second match, and if it does lead to a 3rd match, it'd be that both players would play at their best. Same goes for Bo5 and Bo7.
Q: Why stream all matches, and not only stream the replays of the winning match?
A: Because with replays, ppl can play at any given time, but that also means they can decide when they play and I as organizer of this tournament would have to readjust the schedule on when matches would be casted. That would end up a clusterfuck.
Besides this, in other Mods for other games I’ve seen tournaments be hosted where the organizer required replays from people and sent a deadline on when the replays should be sent in. But people wouldn’t play their matches, thus not send in their replays at the deadline and the tournaments got canceled, or important matches would not get played, resulting in an incomplete tournament.
Q: What is with the weird country set up in each round? Why not have any 1 of the rules for every round?
A: I like to be unique. Taking ideas from the communities and merging them all into 1 to keep everyone satisfied, at least for 1 round. This should make things interesting. Looking back at last year, people seemed to enjoy the challenge, so why not do it again?
Q: Is there going to be a way that participants could come onto the stream for a little interview on their matches?
A: That is possible with the Mumble server. Probably Semi Finals and beyond. We will be using the Mumble Server for this.
Q: Is there a way to involve the RA:GL with this tournament in some way or form?
A: There were plans to include a guaranteed spot for the RA:GL Masters Division as an added prize, but that would mean several players had to be excluded and the way to figure out which player to include and exclude is way too complicated for a tournament such as this. So no. The RA:GL and this tournament have nothing to do with one another.
