Tag Team Tournament
I would suggest keeping the amount of ppl in the mumble channel this time strictly limited (to officials + Doomhammer for example) in order to guarantee a swift start of the stream and not have too many ppl talking. It can be then decided by you guys who you want to drag into the private channel as well. There are still ppl left on the admin list from last tournament that still have access which is a good idea in my opinion but we will go over the list tomorrow after stream...

this news should be posted on ModDb as well, if we want to get as much exposure as possible out of this.
I myself have posted a topic announcing the tournament on
SWR Productions (of RotR and SHW)
Revora
PPM
CNCNZ
C&C Labs
XWis
Game Replays
(as I saw there was a topic already on CNCnet, I just replied there)
the message was slightly altered from the sign up topic, adding links to the youtube and twitch channels and a proper countdown to when the casts will start

Alright, so here's a first draft of the bracket sheet, fresh off of challonge.net!
http://challonge.com/ComcastTTT
My idea is to split the games up until the semifinals into 2 groups:
The top half of the seeds will play on Saturday 5th, the bottom half on Sunday 6th.
That way, we don't have to have all 20 players online at any given time.
The semifinals will be on Saturday, 12th, and the finals on Sunday, 13th.
What do you think?

Hi and congratulations on registering to the first ever prize pooled OpenRA tournament
On previous events I've done some mass PM's to participating players in order to have a more interesting and fun stream session. I hope you'll take the time to answer a few questions at the end of this note.
The first round of brackets will be split into Saturday and Sunday - 5th and 6th of March:
http://challonge.com/ComcastTTT
This means that bracket 1 and 2 (qualifiers) + 5 and 6 (Round of 8 ) are played on Saturday in this, and bracket 3, 4, 7 and 8 on Sunday. For clarity sake we'll be progressing the brackets in that order both days.
The stream will begin precicely at 14:00/2:00PM UTC (check your time zone) on Saturday and Sunday. FiveAces will stream all events on his youtube channel: www.youtube.com/user/CovertFlobert and Hecthor Doomhammer will stream at least on Saturday www.twitch.tv/pauljongejans to help us with some good exposure for OpenRA. We're counting on you to report in as early as possible on your match day to help us make the streamed event as seamless as possible. At minimum Team Captains should be present on IRC to represent the team on match day.
There'll also be a preview stream on friday at 19:00/7:00PM UTC on Doomhammer's twitch where we'll be test our setup for the weekend and to introduce Doomhammer more to the gameplay.
Coin tosses:
In before every match, a tournament official will do 2 coin tosses (e.g. www.virtualcointoss.com) to decide which team picks the mod and who picks the map. (Slight change from the info in the Tournament main post).
Map pool
The map pool has been decided to be official but custom maps can be suggested and used if both the Tournament officals and the opposing team finds it reasonable. 1V1s can be played on any 2 or 4 player maps. 2V2s can be played on 4 or 6 player maps.
Mumble
Without question, most of our players will team up with a microphone. Jazz_KCF's Mumble is widely used and he's more than happy to avail it for the players. Team mates can off course use whatever means of communations they wish. Nevertheless you should make it a point to mic up with your teammate for the tournament for better communication.
Game settings
Default settings for all mods: $5000, Crates:off, Short Game, Fog-of-War

They also should have available a Steam account in order to reciece a free game as an extra Champions' prize donated by Hecthor Doomhammer.
Remaining setup and rules are found in the main thread: www.sleipnirstuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=19414
In which rules conflict between the Main Post and this PM, this PM takes precedense.

K so this is a draft of the mass PM messaging I'll be doing as soon as possible.
I tweaked the rules on the map pool and coin toss a little, hoping to get the nod from you guys on this. IMO the official map pool is currently utter shit and the coin-toss part could be even more exiting for the stream with a toss for both mod and map instead of 1 coin toss immediately delivering an option to each team. There's gonna be a lot of new potential viewers/players so I thought we ought to make it as interesting as possible, not to mention see if we can't play on decent maps throughout the event.

note to self:
- add info on no-specing players in PM
- generals gentlemen something
- jazz server and server pass
- update linked textfile
also forgot to add jazz to the tournament official name list and is overcome with guilt.

1) Who is this "jaZz_KCF" person I keep hearing and reading about in them PMs? Strange, must be a distant cousin, or a British Spy.
2) The servers will be set up in the afternoon today, as I will probably not be at home this Friday evening (until about 22h). I will send you guys a PM/MSG here with the server name and the password that has been set, in order for SS to send those informations in a follow-up PM.
