Newbie glitch

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but it appears to be impossible to change my name to anything other than newbie. is there a solution to this problem and, if so, what do you do?

You can also change your name in the file settings.yalm (in /documents/openra/). Just open the file with a text editor.
