YAK and MIG stances don't do anything

I just noticed that having a YAK or MIG with an attack or defense instance doesn't change their behavior. These units will only attack if an attack move is used, is that intentional?

is this on release or playtest? Because I'm 100% they are both working on playtest

In defence stance I suppose Yaks/Migs don't attack *immediately* if they're not pointing at the target (as they have an attack vector in a cone shape before them). Though they probably should turn at least and try to attack the target when it gets in their tracking range.

Anyway, I suggest trying this on the playtest as the aircraft code was almost completely rewritten there.

Support for aircraft stances was added with https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/pull/16369. It's like netnazgul said and I think they don't turn. You have to move them accordingly and they pick up targets (like opportunity fire).
