Stalemate after a 2-Hour Game...

Post by thezoidberg »

After playing a two hour long game last evening with two gents, I realized that we were at a stalemate. With no way to resolve the situation, I just surrendered and went to sleep. It was perhaps the best OpenRA match that I have ever played.

Could there be some sort of "sudden death" mode that requires the agreement of all players to engage? If the match lasts for 2+ hours and there are over 2000 kills, maybe we can settle things with a friendly game of rock-paper-scissors? :P

It reminds me of this the Civ 2 simulation that ran for 15 years.

stalemate in 3 players FFA?

did it involve just you and the other guy, or...?

wait, nobody build a nuke? Try softening your enemy's defense point with a nuke first before charging in with infantry and tanks (and arty!) screaming

We all built nukes and had large standing armies. it didn't matter. There were about a half dozen attempts to storm my base following a well-placed nuke. They all failed and cursing ensued :)

If player 1 became too weak at the hands of player 2, it threatened the future safety of the player 3. Player 3 would then attack player 2 to prevent him from acquiring 2/3 of the map. That would force player 2 to fall back and give player 1 a chance to fully recover. All players then regained even footing.

It became an endless loop....

Nah, it's plenty good without pictures.

Your reactions alone are hilarious! XD

But yeah, a replay or images would be nice.

I have another 2-hour replay - it's a 1 vs. 1 against Aves. That's really just me playing scrappy to survive and fend off defeat for as long as possible.
