Modding is a great way to learn how to code games

This could surely be true for young people who have some basic knowledge, but I imagine to not to be the only older user who did not had a chance to study programming when was young, and now i do not have the slightest idea of how to even start the most basic programming learning.

Not counting that it is a time consuming activity start a such new learning path, and is difficult to integrate it with work, or family, even if, at least for me, would be a rewarding acnowledgment to be able to mod a game to my likings.
Not to mention that having someone doing the "dirty work" for me make me feel very obliged, with the guilty of not being able to repay the kindness most of the times.
