That sounds like a very slow expensive attack. Easiest way to "defend" against it is probably just to not let them get away with building 4 MCVs (and have money for defensive structures to pop up) while you're building attacking units...

Hmm the Commander makes a good point.

Perhaps some kind of digital reward like an artwork or something if someone in the community was willing to make it? Or a forum badge or something?

Agreed with Phrohdoh, it's a little hard to see where the barrel is facing at the moment. They are looking nice though. :)

I agree. I always immediately put my artillery units on defence, would be nice if it were default or at least an option to set it to default. Actually there could be an argument made that this should always be the default on every unit. I never want my units moving of their own accord to chase enemy...

I like it. :) I always thought the light tanks looked more powerful than they actually are, and these with the smaller barrel look better. My only gripe is that they are much taller than the other tanks, so they don't feel like they match quite right. :o

In my experience a list of "rules" or such like that only incites more anger when someone doesn't agree to play by them (examples: "backdooring" in dota or "camping" in fps games). I am of the opinion that if its possible in the game its a fair tactic, and labelling it otherwise hurts the community....

I think another reason is that starting with no units gives you complete control over your build order, and therefore makes the metagame more interesting because you don't know what your enemy will get first. If both of you start with a few tanks, then you both know you immediately need some anti-ta...

Sounds quite economy heavy. You don't get any attacking units until you have two harvesters? What do you do if the enemy goes PP > Ref > barracks and walks a bunch of rocket troops into your ore field?

I would also say chipping in $2-$5 for the prize pot could be a good incentive. It's not a serious amount of money, but even the idea of it being on the line would probably make players want to set up matches. Hey all, what do you think of this tech tree picture I've made? I'm pretty sure it's right (made it based on the yaml files) but let me know if something is off. It's a fairly simple design but I think it shows everything.

My micro is definitely poor. So is my macro actually; I can' sorta do one or the other heheh. Usually I've been using my helis as scout eyes for my artillery, so their forward from my army. I guess that's not the best use of them though.. Rangers might do better.
