Sounds reasonable considering it's close to the summer's vacation period. I'll also be fully available July 2nd -10th.

I'll see what we can't do to thoroughly advertise the tournament times.

Doomhammer do you have some graphic asset's? Hammers, Minions and whatnot? I wanna make that poster.

Also some Audio files would be great to mix in with some promo videos (e.g. the Hechtor Doomhammer chant)!

Now that the tournament has been announced, let's talk about promotion.

As well as my Facebook and Twitter, which I will be spamming every day with the link to the announcement topic.

An event on the OpenRA Facebook has been made, but I don't know how effective it will be

With any luck I've got a voice actor recording a scripted message, which I will hopefully be able to work into a proper announcement video

And SoScared is working on a nice promo-image, which he will have done by the end of next weekend.

What else can be done / can you guys do to help spread the word? Other forums I don't know about? Reddit? Official OpenRA website?


I see OpenRA has a ModDB page, as well as its own Facebook / Twitter page.. Something nees to happen on these, but I have no access

I think you will likely get entrants after the RAGL is over. Everyone involved is likely tired and eager to have a rest. I'm holding off until then before i consider getting involved with the tourney. I hope enough people sign up though; you've put a great deal of thought and organisation into this and it would be awful to see it go to waste :L

I've decided that if my Red Alert tournament gets 4-7 people, the Prize Pool will be lowered to €60, divided over 2 people and with a rescheduled bracket.
8-12 will ger €100 devided over 3 people with a different bracket.
12-16 will be €160 divided over 3 people

Reason for this is that I can pretty much guarantee 4 players and I still want to have at least something done.

Once it's the 26th and registration closes I'll post the proper bracket with times on the public forum

Greetings ladies and gentlemen. Our good friend Hecthor Doomhammer is eager to welcome you all to the first ever Hecthor Doomhammer Red Alert 1vs1 Tournament (tm)
A Tournament unlike any other where contestants are subjected to a new challenge each round to keep them out of their comfort zone and constantly on their toes.


Starting July 2nd at 10:00 AM GMT / 12:00 PM GMT 16 of you will be waging a 2 weekend war to decide who take the honor, glory and the prize money on July 10th
the Prize Pool currently consists of a whopping €160
Should there be 8-12 of you signing up, the prize pool will be deceased to €100.
Should there be 7 or less the prize pool will be reduced to €60.
Depending on how many of you sign up the times might change.

I tried to make a small banner [around 400-450 X 170-230] for the Mumble Server aimed to replace the now obsolete RAGL banner shown at login. I tried a quick down-scale, but this obviously did not work since the text gets way too small.

SoScared: If you can whip out a small banner version for Doomy's Tourny I might even be able to replace the banner in time so we can generate a little more hype.

I'm not a fan of using 3P or 4P maps for a strict 1vs1 set up. I feel it creates a massive imbalance where if 1 player quickly takes an expansion of where P3 or P4 would end up, he'd end up with too much of an advantage eco wise
