Heya everyone,
I've been working on a new in-game UI for Tib Dawn mod. It's based on the work of xanax and warman who were working on this before me. I've also added some twists from myself and I have coded it to work in-game.
I'm starting this topic to gather overall feedback and suggestions on some points.
Here is the issue on github: https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/issues/7572
And here's my WIP branch: https://github.com/dragunoff/OpenRA/tre ... -dragunoff
Test builds can be downloaded from here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing (sorry, no mac build, I couldn't package that)

GDI
There are two versions for GDI: with green and red buttons. Red buttons fit better in the overall color scheme of the mod. Green buttons fit better with the faction.

Nod
There are two versions for Nod: with light and dark panels. Light panels work better in-game because it's easier to distinguiush the interactive elements from pure decorative elements. Dark panels I feel fit better with the faction.

Green GDI looks nice
Re: Tiberian Dawn UI revamp
I thought that GDI style color is brown/yellow. Green is completely fine too though.
As for Nod, I might suggest making it something in between light and dark themes, and/or maybe with red incuts (and GDI having brown ones).

Re: Tiberian Dawn UI revamp
GDI color is indeed golden/brown, but I think it would be harder to make an UI with that color because it would be too similar the active icon state (yellow). I think that it's better to have consistent icon states across factions. Furthermore green was used for GDI's UI in CNC3 and since this proposed design seems inspired by CNC3 I think it's good to stick with green. I may still give it a try though as I am curious.
@netnazugul Which part of the UI do you refer to as "incuts"?
