I had no idea! This makes the whole setup even more interesting, time to check those replay servers again ;)

Heres an epic match on sidestep of myself vs Smitty. This was played on the new playtest and showcases some of the new changes.

Awesome! It never ceases to amaze me how far the competitive scene has gotten!
I still remember the days when there were maybe 1-2 games posted per month,
and some of my earlier casts were players who would nowadays be considered beginners.
OpenRA has come a long way indeed!
I'll check those replays out as soon as my holiday schedule allows me to.

And for this week, I present to you... The actual Hidden Path To Masters!
To add a little bit of context, I had recently casted the first leg of the Masters qualifiers with Juicebox versus Happy,
oblivious to the fact that there was a second leg being played out between the winners of Minions and Recruits.
So to set the record straight, I went ahead and casted the BO5 series between Blackened and Juicebox:

Cheers!

@Fiveaces you know how in happy vs juicebox you were naming the patron saints of RA? I'm the patron saint of Misclicks as evidenced in game 3 :P

@whocares for what it's worth Juice and I had connection problems the whole series I'm not sure streaming would have even been an option. We had to restart game 2 because the lag got so bad.

Just watched Smitty's playtest stream, I think the last game Smitty vs FiveAces should definitely be casted :)

I think part of the reason the competitive community has grown is because of your great casting. I wouldn't be here if I hadn't come across one of your casts! Heck, I'm also playing Crystalized Doom right now because of your casts (I do hope you do more CD casts in the future).

A NEW META!?

Clickbait aside, it's Smitty vs Orb on RAGL Agenda in the playtest. I've been experimenting with new builds in the playtest and Smitty says this one has potential.

Thanks for the great feedback! Seeing how my small contribution to the OpenRA community has actually persuaded people into discovering this gem means a lot to me. Will take a look at your submissions ASAP!

In other news, apologies for the delayed upload! I was on holidays and apparently so was the Youtube Upload Manager. Thus, I give you a delayed conclusion to the Hidden Path To Masters:

I was waiting for that one 5aces! Great cast thanks, and I am pleased to see the Soviets, tech-rushing, and late service depots reappearing in high level matches.

New naval map, and off the bat we're at a dynamic game with myself vs .1

Subsequent revision has revised the top left mine count reducing it from 2 gems + 4 ore mines to 2 gems + 1 ore mine. (2 were out of reach for the most part anyway).

Either way it sees some naval action and tier 3.

As always, thanks for the submissions!

Before I'm off for the holidays, I present you what is probably one of the most insane 1v1 matches ever played,
running time roughly 68 minutes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL5roNNF7YM

Hi versus FrameLimiter - featuring the entire Allied tech tree (except gunboats, fuck gunboats!),
chrono harvesting, multiple radar resets and the best MCV husk salvaging operation in OpenRA history!

See you in a week!
