Play/Game of the Season
Posted: Thu Mar 23, 2017 5:32 pm
Hey everyone!
A new season has started and allready a whole lot of games have been played. Personally I enjoy seeing the best of the best and would like to continue the Play of the Season. So again I would like to ask you guys: nominate the best plays and games of the season! The eventual winner will again recieve $20.
You can nominate a play or game that is interesting or spectacular in any way. Also don't be humble: you may also nominate your own game if you think it was great.
Please make my life easy and use this format to nominate the games:
Replayname: [e.g.: RAGL-S01-MASTER-R01-ABC-DEF.orarep]
Time: [i.e.: when the awesome play was made]
Reason: [Please provide an explanation why you think it was good]
Examples of possible play/games of the season: excellent micro, an amazing comeback, really close or hardfought games, just a very entertaining game, extreme luck, a freak accident or inventive ways of using units.

Season 03 Nominees
- Mint Spokesman vs Bluejay - R01 - Behind the Veil - Recruit A - download
Reason: Mint Spokesman' perfect parabombs after a missed oppurtunity by Bluejay to destroy the airfield.
- Gatekeeper vs Barf - R01 - Desert Rats - Master - download
Reason: Hero engineer starts it'scapturing spree that lays the foundation for the win in an overall very entertaining game.
- Doomsday vs Omnom - R01 - Agenda - Recruit B - downloadlink
Reason: You can't get more all-in than this play, as Doomsday didn't even bother to build a refinery to back up his gren rush. Sure it didn't require much micro, but I woudn't have had the guts to try it in a competitive match.
- Lorrydriver vs Anjew - R03 - Winter Storm 2 - Master - download
Reason: Anjew quickly takes the lead by denying expansions. Lorrydriver is behind in economy and tech during large parts of the game but somehow hangs in there and eventually forces Anjew to resign.
- SirCakealot vs Blackened - R04 - Pitfight - Minions - download
Reason: at 6:35 SirCakealot captures an MCV with a hijacker and uses the double tech (a shockies/medic blob) to win the game. Also nice map control with the hinds/flak/infantry group before the final push.
- Raymundo vs T - R04 - Green Belt - Minions - download
Reason: Raymundo's lucky aircraft game. @~6:30 he finds a newly built demo-truck with a spyplane. Sends in one yak which only manages to shoot one salvo before getting shot... but it lands on the demo, setting it off and killing an entire blob of infantry. Also @~13:20 T's yak makes an unlucky turn when shot and lands in T's forces.
- Ohmk Torgue vs Raishiwi - R05 - Patches - Recruit A - download
Reason: With just one MCV dropping ore refineries everywhere Ohmk Torgue loses his MCV early in the game. A desperate attack force is kept alive by an equal number of medics and Raishiwi surrenders.
- Lorrydriver vs FiveAces - R06 - Behind the Veil - Master - download
Reason: LorryDriver was immediatly restrained in his original base. He managed to break free and circumvent FiveAces to eventually win the game.
- FiveAces vs LorryDriver - R06 - Behind the Veil - Master - download
Reason: Throughout the game many examples of excellent micro resulting in minor local victories.
- Blackened vs Lucasss - R07 - Pitfight - Minion - download
Reason: Lucasss was ahead in allmost everything and succesfully attacked Blackened's economy and denied the GPS. Blackened managed to come back and even threw a nuke.
- Sircakealot vs Smitty - R8 - Agenda - Minion - download
Reason: doing a hijacker drop, stealing 1 harvester and blocking Smitty's refinery with it
- Sircakealot vs Lucasss - R11 - Agenda - Minion - download
Reason: ~3:30 Masterfully executed MCV execution by Sir Cakealot, that Mobile Flak positioning was a joy to behold. This and #2 gave Sir Cakealot points needed to be promoted to Masters, well done!
- Sircakealot vs Lucasss - R11 - Green Belt - Minion - download
Reason: Sir Cakealot goes wild again in this doube-pronged grenadier-engineer attack around 3:20 which obliterates lucassss' base. This and #1 gave Sir Cakealot points needed to be promoted to Masters, well done!
