The deadline for submissions for the Map Design Contest has passed! We enter the next stage of the competition: choosing a winner. To find out what the best map is we will combine the judgement of 3 jurymembers with the popular vote.

First of all: big thanks to all the mapmakers who all have made awesome maps!

Each jurymember will be using this scoresheet to rate the maps. After we have rated the maps we wil sort the maps on the clumn "sum of scores". The highest map gets 37 points, 2nd 36 points, 3rd 35 points, [...], the last map gets 1 point. The same will be done with the result of the popular vote.

Finally we will sum up the totals: Score Anjew + Score SoScared + Score NoobMapMaker + Popular Vote score = Total. The map with the highest sum of scores gets $40, the nr2 gets $20 and the categorywinners that did not end up 1st or 2nd participate in a lottery for $10. (lnk to Map contest thread with categories listed.) The prizes are offered to you by SoScared ($50) and me ($20).

As for the popular vote we kindly request you to stick with 1 vote per person. Yes, it is possible to cheat by making more accounts, but it has little effect as the jury decision weighs much more and also it's not fun. If we suspect that the poll is being brigaded then we can decide to stick to the jury vote only.

The poll runs untill July 15th. Meanwhile we will also be rating and testing the maps. At approx 16/17th of July the winners will be announced. Also I will tell who made which map and after a couple days I will delete all maps so the creaters can reupload their own map.

will the judges votes remain private or public?

Our ratings will remain private untill the 15th, after that we will make them public.

So many new maps to try, so little time...

If I cannot try all the maps, should I refrain from voting, or vote for the map I liked best?

People are free to choose a map in their own way.. So it'up to you!

Soscared, Anjew and I will add our scores in the next 2 days. When all scores are entered they will be summed up and I'll post a resultthread with the maps, the scores, the names of the creaters and the winners. After approximately a week (or earlier on request) I will delete all maps and the creaters can reupload them under their own name.

The category winner will be randomly drawn. This was planned to do during a SoScared stream, but he'll be on vacation so we'll have to find another solution for that.
