Tournament Format Idea - 4/6 matches w/halftime

Post by Spy »

Been playing a little CS:GO lately, and it seems the competitive mode has a feature where teams switch sides during halftime (after 15 rounds out of 30).

What if we had a tournament format where 2 teams/players played 4 or 6 matches, and after half of the matches have been completed, they switch to either Soviet or Allies, or, in TD's case, Nod or GDI?

Maybe this would be a good way of testing current meta/game balance.

Thoughts?

The main reason you swap sides on CS:GO is because the teams and the maps are imbalanced as well as the fact that both sides have completely different objectives (defend and attack).

This could be nice though, i like the idea of one side being allies(or NOD) and the other being soviet (or GDI) but this requires a lot of extra stuff like deciding who gets what first, probably have to play the same map because choosing a different one would make it imbalanced.
