Lag on my Monsters' Archipel map

Post by Dasha »

Hello,

After some times (years), I decided to give OpenRA another go.
And the good thing is that the map editor is working again !

I've spent some time in creating a 4-players map with the following features :

- It's an archipel map
- The map is quite symetric but still with a "natural" look
- Resources are exactly distribtued on the map for all players
- There are creeps (ants and zombie) near the resources located outside the original spawn islands
- There are 2 labs that can be capture so that the player can produce himself ants or zombies
- There is a central island (divded in 2 by a river and bridge) where an hospital and an Ukranian airfield can be captured

See attached link : https://we.tl/t-3hFhAPpwWL

On this map, it's possible to block a player if the north and south bridges of his island are broken.

I tested it against an AI player and I observed that when I destroy his 2 bridges, the game starts to lag extremely.

Is it a known bug ?

Hi. That is indeed a known issue that is hopefully mitigated on the devtest, see OpenRA/OpenRA#12435.

I'll test this devtest tomorrow.
In the meantime, I've uploaded my map : https://resource.openra.net/maps/48840/

Hello,

I confirmed in the devtest topic that indeed, the lag is not there anymore.

Well done dev team !
