Infantry Conversion Dune2000 to OpenRA/TD

Post by raminator »

was trying all day long to get something together.
i wrote a batch-file to "rename" the Dune2000-Rifle-Guy´s png to have the correct counterclockwise order.
then i made a cscheme-file for shpbuilder to make it use RA´s remap, etc.
now the stupid thing is that D2k infantry pngs are not alligned in the centre of the png.
so you need to fix that manually.
i tried the shp ingame and the sequence works.

what i need now is some tip or a lil app that helps me allign the unit in the centre of the png.

why dont you just convert it to shp and use OS SHP builder set it? that tool is very easy to allign multiple frames just only few click.

you should press + icon to let the program creation cross line on the center of image then using cavas resize tool increase/decrease the number until your unit will place on the center, this effect to every frame on your shp.

ah ok...that i knew...
but problem is that the unit is always alligned in the top left corner of the frame.

something like this

xx0000
xx0000
000000

or

xxxx00
000000
000000

using the canvas size doenst help sadly...

@raminator: d2k has an internal table of hardcoded frame offsets. it's incredibly lame.

Note mods/d2k/bits has a units.pal which is the original d2k palette, in OpenRA format.

Tiberian has also been working on a d2k mod, you should talk to him.

I fixed the centering thing now. Can you send me your sequences.yaml and your batch file to sort the frames counter-clock wise order? That would save me some time for the Dune 2000 mod.
