Hm... make it a helicopter and copy the tag "landableterraintypes" from the chinnok, your mcv should do its work after that.

I hope I'm not stealing the thread, here's a little
example of this. just grab the helicopter code, and add the transforms trait, grab the code of a conyard for a good example. Transforming a plane would be a little messy, cuz it won't land or anything, it will just transform in the spot.
