hi,
if i want to create a multiplayer game this is shown:

master server communication established
Warning: server port is not accessible from the internet
game has not been advertised online

i tried already different ports an deactivated my firewall, but with no other results.what can i do?

You likely have to open the port on your router (port forwarding).

Hosting your own server shouldn't be necessary in most cases. The community host many dedicated servers, which you can join and then set options/map/etc in the same way you would your own.

I found my online multiplayer games I created were not being advertised online but it only took me changing a box in the menu. I would not mess with anything important without trying the menu. I think it is in advanced tab and it should be easy to find the box I mean then check the box. I don't think it's uncheck. I had the same issue no game advertised online but that sorted it out

there is an option to advertise online that was the only thing stopping my games from being advertised online its in the options

I had a similar problem yesterday. My son and I had played OpenRA together multiple times between our two laptops. Local multiplayer only, not advertised online. Yesterday I created a new game/server and it didn't appear on the list. I tried having him connect directly to my IP, that didn't work. I even put a rule exempting OpenRA from Windows Firewall, no dice.

I tried announcing the game and got the port not available error. Maybe I will try a different port number today and see what happens.

Update:
I attempted running off a different port number and still no good. The problem happens on both laptops so, maybe something with my router, although, I didn't change any settings there.

UPnP is enabled in the router settings. I haven't found anything strange there. Maybe a reboot of the router will fix it. I'll check for firmware updates too.

It's weird because everything was working fine and then BOOM not working.

Me and my friend also tried in different IP addresses. This is our results.
1. Using my linux machine. Server creation failed.
2. Using my friend's windows machine. Server creation success.
3. Using my friend's linux machine in the same IP as above 2. Server creation failed.

Somehow we think it is a linux build problem. I hope some expert can verify that for us and post a fix.
No port forwarding, no firewall used.

Hi.

1. Check that your UPnP is enable in Settings/ Avanced in OPENRA MENU
2. When you create a multiplayer game check that your UPnP is supported. The game warns you.

If the problem persists yor router has disabled the UPnP

1. Look on the back of your router and look for the address and online configuration password of the router.
2. Go to page, use the pasword and enter avanced configuration and enable UPnP.
