It would be very cool if you could take your living room coffee table and tell the game exactly where it is in the room (like by pointing at the corners one at a time) and then you play the strategy game around your own table. You wouldn't need to "teleport" like he is doing in the video you linked to, you'd just walk around your table.
I'd like to try that experience someday. You'd probably need to play with 100% explored map (without fog-of-way) or it'll feel/look strange in VR.
