Hey everyone!
Thanks to all those who joined us on our quest to playtest the everliving daylights out of Crystallized Doom last weekend!
The stream will be uploaded shortly; in the meantime, there's going to be some regular content
in the form of a great 1v1 between Yellow and ZxGanon,
showcasing the importance of covering your tanks' flanks with dogs.

Hope you guys enjoy some good ol' Mammooth Tank action!

Cheers!

Hi friends'n'folks!

I've started a new video series that is aimed at teaching newer players the basics of competitive 1v1 play
by example of the RAGL matches I had over the course of the last weeks.
This will be covering build orders, scouting, split-decond decision making and much more.

Until the end of the RAGL season, you can expect one of these videos per week.
Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the feedback, next RAGL academy video is already done and waiting to be released on Sunday!
In the meantime, the regular casts are back with a really hilarious game of Hi vs OzzyOuzo:

Never before have I seen phase transports have that high a killcount in a game.
This match was a blast to cast!

I'll be on holidays in Morocco for a couple days, so see you all next week!

Cheers

I have been dissuaded from using phase transports because I always thought infantry could detect them, so this cast was educational and entertaining.

Are there any units that offer steath detection or is it only the base defenses?

The radar dome can and IIRC the radar jammer can. If it cant then that might be a thought for future balance changes!

EDIT: the mobile radar jammer can detect clocked units!

Dogs and spies perhaps?

That's very cool about the mobile radar jammer. It might start seeing more play if Hi's mass phase transport strategy takes off.

Yes, at the moment stealth detection is really hard to come by.
One of the problems seems to be that stealth and mine detection are two entirely different traits.

I'd still suggest giving the engineers both types of detection, thus giving them more of a "combat engineer" vibe
along with more utility and an incentive to build them even on maps with no oils.
At the moment, you have to rely on dogs and spies for spy checks, mine layers for mine detection
and radar jammers/base defenses for stealth detection -
plus destroyers/gun boats for sub detection.

(anything with a green circle around it has some kind of detection)

Anyway, glad you liked the format - here's episode 2, covering my 2nd week Global League match versus Zoidberg:

Huh, so right now the Allies have a unit that can detect Phase Tanks (the Radar Jammer) but the Soviets don't? That's a bit weird imo.
I would suggest giving Dogs stealth detection too, with the explanation being that they can smell the tanks.
In fact, maybe just make both Dogs and Radar Jammers able to detect mines as well, and Radar Jammers could possibly also detect spies because they pick up on their radio communication or something.
This way it would be simpler for players what unit they need to build if they just want to be able to detect something they can't see.

Besides the Radar Jammer & Phase transport itself, both dogs and spies will detect cloaked units. As well as every defense structure including AA guns & SAM sites. I suggest mixing in a few spies or dogs with your infantry if you're getting squished by the phase transport.

From the infantry.yaml:

DOG:
DetectCloaked:
CloakTypes: Cloak, Hijacker

SPY:
DetectCloaked:
CloakTypes: Cloak, Hijacker
