Open RA stopped working for me

Post by zinc »

I installed the latest playtest. (are left-click orders available??)

Then I went back to the latest release version. When i try to change map it crashes. So I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it. Still crashing. Never had this problem with this version before.

Any ideas?

Left click orders have been removed: https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/pull/6949

The maps in the new playtest are automatically updated to mapformat 7 which is incompatible with the release.

..wait, what?

I guess this is what happens if you keep running an older version cause you only play vs AI...

You completely miss updates that remove kinda crucial options.

I was speaking entirely about myself, zinc, not you.

I don't download any of the playtests, and just go by release.. (mostly because I only play against CPUs, and not players, so I don't need the latest playtest.) so I was completely unaware that left-clicking had been removed, a fact that I personally find a terrible shame..

And a fact I've just read about has been taken into consideration to be reimplemented before the next release, so that's a relief.
