Query : Openra D2K Siege Tanks balance?

After some very enjoyable play in D2K MPs, I start to think that the siege tanks is weaker and not as effective as the original D2K siege tanks.

Indeed, the original D2K siege tanks is absolute murder against infantry forces, and their presence largely neutered infantry hordes (both your enemies and your own, the original D2K siege tank splash damage is monstrous).

But while you can argue that it is the Original siege tanks who was op, in openRA, the very same behaviour could be found in RA Allied artilleries, and ironically, it's the D2K Siege tanks who end up weak, and only effective in their name role for sieging enemy bases (they're good at destroying buildings).

So, I want to suggest that the D2K Siege tank damage vs infantry to be increased, or at least having better supression effect on incoming horde of infantry. I'm still not sure about that though, if because those who played D2K isn't as experienced as RA players, but I'm sure if anyone want to prove D2K siege tanks is useful at their intended role against infantry, you're welcome to play MP with me ;) I'm usually available at 1 pm - to 5 pm GMT but we can arrange another time as well.

alright, after playing quite a lot RA matches, and looking that even one allied artilleries absolutely murder infantry caught in their blasts, but in Dune Infantry actually have the chance to close in and kill the siege tanks first, I came into conclusion that its either allied artilleries are strong (and much like original dune2k siege tanks in this regard) or dune2k siege tanks needs to be buffed.

Now, with the latest playtest, and after playing some really interesting MP battles ...

yeah, Siege Tanks definitely can't hold themselves. Infantry just need to simply walk toward them and "tank" the damage if you have no combat tanks to hold the siege tanks (they're too slow that they can be easily outflanked by infantry, and their attack is not that strong.)

maybe it was just me building tons of infantry (I treat them as meatshields and combat tanks deal the real damage anyway, or maybe it could be the other players never paid close attentions to infantry, but looking a whole group of 10 siege tanks obliterated by small ball of riflemen and troopers, mostly unsupported...

ADD: Oh well, Dune 2000's 155mm only deal 100 damage while Red Alert's 155mm deal 220 damage... I guess it definitely needs a damage boost...
