I mean, well, although they're kinda useful to have as GDI, if you play as NOD, you'll find those airstrikes annoying, especially since they one hit kill most of NOD units...
And yeah, perhaps they need to be placed further behind and their reload time lenghtened?
speaking of which, should the Nod Nuke strike reload time is lenghtened as well? into 8 or 9 minutes (like in RA?)

perhaps they can be made more like dune 2k airstrike? aka requiring the top most construction to be summoned?

The airstrike is designed to be a quick kill unit. Fast moving vehicles however, can dodge the airstrike unless it comes out of the corner of the screen closest.
While I think the airstrike could have a permanent arrival time IE: five seconds., It is possible to dodge it. Light tanks, bikes, buggies, flame tanks are such examples of possible dodging. Infantry is harder to do since they move slower but depending on the side they come from you can move aswell.

Airstrikes where annoing when you playing against bots and they just "see" where your structures and utits are. You can see on replay how bots precisely target their planes in areas fully covered with fog of war. Otherwise it's cool and realistic that planes can stop offensive units and change the situation on the field.
The problem whith airstrikes, in my opinion, that planes appear from random side of map and if enemy planes appeared from "your site" of the screen you can't do anything. If they fly from enemy base side, then you have time to get your units, even infantry, from line of fire.
So maybe if airstrike come from airfield or radar side of one who summoned it and is closest to target it could make sense.
