Tiberian Sun

Are you confident you can get Carryalls to work properly?

Some bugs Tiberian Sun had were units didn't have threat ratings so if a Orca bomber was on guard mode it would bomb anything rather than highest priority. Same with flame tank aka devil's tongue. They would attack the mcv rather than the engineers that came out. Carryalls were glitchy in tiberian sun. Say you sent a few units on carryalls and they all landed close to each other. Most the time one of the carryalls will not release the unit its carrying and just landing with the unit attached causing the attack to suffer. I see potential that if everything is done properly that this version of TS could be even better than normal Tiberian Sun especially since most people play on low graphics settings to prevent crashing from bugs.

We have high quality standards which will probably delay a release with a Tiberian Sun mod shipped by default. However you should not expect a gameplay wise feature complete version. There is currently no carryall support, neither for Dune 2000 https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/issues/2246 nor for Tiberian Sun. I expect the first release of the ts mod to start with basic functionality and the special https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/wiki/Traits will be added one after another. We can get everything working properly as we rewrite from scratch so we inherit no technical limitation from the bit-rotting original. It just needs someone to take their (free) time and write that piece of programming logic.

In a word: yes. It's just a question of time, skill, and manpower.

The main focus for TS is getting the core features (which are mostly subcategories of "terrain support") working. Specific unit features such as the carryall are pretty low on our priority list at the moment, so it will be a long time before they are implemented (unless somebody wanted to work on that specifically, which they could do at any point).
