That's what happens. I have the Aftermath disc in my D: DVD-ROM drive. It reads. It works. It's good. Except if I try to use it with OpenRA. Then OpenRA just crashes outright when I choose 'Use CD' BUT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO USE THE ORIGINAL CDS!!!! I did that next. Same thing happened. It doesn't even try to read them, click 'Use CD' = Immediate crash. Then I got the idea to copy Main.mix, and the various sizzles.mix/s from the root of the CD directly to the OpenRA folder. Guess what happened? Same error message. Clicked 'Use CD' same thing happened.
I do have a MagicDisc drive operating as E:, but that shouldn't affect anything. _It should not affect anything_
I use XP SP2 and will never, ever upgrade, period.
I'm no n00b, and I am disappointed such simple and basic disc and resource file detection are overlooked, or poorly implemented in this project at this stage. I uninstalled it because this is too much work for right now, but if anyone has any suggestions I'm willing to listen to them. (Everything I did should have worked, period.)
Thanks.
Use CD = Immediate crash (Would you like to report crash?)
What title says
https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/wiki/Game-Content (now) explains that you need the original US version (no expansion packs) for the in-game CD ripper to work. You can try installing the expansion pack via the official setup.exe and copy the *.MIX files manually into the folders described at https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/wiki/Installation but this might not work.
