OpenD2K

at the moment, i am impressed to see Dune2000 becoming part part of OpenRA.

I have also noticed alot of place holders in there!

Redalert "anti-air" sound
The Starport being the C&C's Nods Airstrip


So, i hope to see this OpenD2K becomes what it was, before it gets changed to something else
  • Starport, actually ordering up to 6 units, and a "place order" button
  • Physic Concrete 4 & 9 blocks to replicate what Dune2000 really was
  • automatic Carryalls for faster harvester collection and transfers & repairs
  • Palaces do what they did before "6 fremen", "1 sabuter", "1 inaccurate death hand missle"
  • Seperate build panal for light & heavy factory
  • upgrading system to unlock advance units and structures
  • Spice bloom poping up and exploding new spice, rather a placeholder from C&C RA 1
  • destroyed strucutres release deadly debris that damages units

    and much more... hope to see it develop more further :)

Apparently not by me. I am currently having not enough time anymore. Still it was fun to get into game creation as a programming hobbyist and I learned a lot. However I also noted that only few people play the d2k mod and the community tends to hack the original Dune 2000 at http://www.d2kplus.com/ instead of contributing to the Open Source reimplementation.

Great thanks to developers for D2K mod! As for me D2K is a best game on Redalert engine. If somebody wants to play in D2K mode mail me: aneyrin(at)gmail.com.

I was interested to see what the D2K mod would eventually look like, but i thought it would take some time before a new game balance was made (unit adjustments to make an interesting game). My impression was that Dune 2000 wasn't that good...not sure why people play it.
