I'm trying to install openRA on my home computer which doesn't have internet access. The installer is trying to download "sdl.zip" and "freetype-zlib.zip" and is cancelled after it tries and fails to download these files. Can I download these files myself and where do I put them when installing?

You will need to download the Red Alert ISO here: http://www.cncforums.com/new/local_links.php?catid=135

Download either the allied or the soviet disk. Which one does not matter.

After that is done, you will need to burn it to a disk with a disk burner. After this is done, you can then use the install from CD option to install RA. This will take a long time, but as a bonus, you get the music tracks from RA, as the online installer does not download them.

Actually, I answered my own question. I just did a search on Google for the files and I downlaoded and extracted them to the root directory where OpenRA is installed. Now I've run into another problem. I didn't know I needed the .Net, OpenAL and CG Toolkit for it to work. I just downloaded them and will try running it. Thanks for the info.

Got everything installed and when I try to run OpenRA it just comes up with an error message. I tried installing on 2 machines and it still wouldn't run. Here are my system specs:

First machine:
Window XP Media Center Edition with Service Pack 3
Pentium 4 2.8GHz
2 GB of Ram
Direct X 9
Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset (Integrated Video)
Soundblaster Audigy

Second machine:
Windows XP Home Edition
Celeron 2GHz
512 MB of Ram
Direct X 9
Geforce 3
Integrated Audio

What am I doing wrong?

Have a look at the FAQ and your "My Documents\OpenRA\Logs\exception.log".
