RA - build times w/additional buildings + run over infantry?

RA - build times w/additional buildings + run over infantry?

Hi all,

I have had great fun playing openra so far and playing this awesome old game.

But two questions

1) How come additional buildings do no speed up the build times of units? Was this not an original feature of Red Alert? If you have 5 barracks your infantry builds faster than if you have only 1?

2) Why are tanks not allowed to run over infantry? This was part of the original red alert?

I may be confusing Red Alert the original with subsequent editions, but I could have sworn #1, at least, was true for the original.

RA1 did both of these things, yes.

I believe the extra prod building = faster speed was taken out to reduce tank spam

CNC right now does tank squish, with I think a 25% chance to squish an infantry unit if you run over it. RA might be interesting with something like that implemented
