Converting Classic RA maps

Post by Chronoseth »

There are several maps missing in OpenRA compared to the original Red Alert's map set.
Is anybody working on adding them?
If not, would they be added if somebody else converted/extracted them from RA?
(not sure if OpenRA uses a different format)

I don't know what the dev's policy is on the old westwood maps, but they can all be imported into the openRA Editor and saved to openRA's map format.

But yeah, no idea why they aren't in there. I could be mistaken if a few are in already, but I can't remember any of westwood's maps.

Yeah, there are a few of them in there. I just miss playing on A Path Beyond. XD

@Chronoseth: The import process is quite straightforward. Run the editor using the supplied shortcut; File -> Import -> C&C / Red Alert Map; choose the file.

I have imported APB and will add it to the next release.

Yeah, I'd already figured out how to convert the maps.
If anybody's interested, here's a map pack. (includes APB which I guess is slightly redundant now :P)

4 Corners, A Path Beyond, C&C, D-Day, Pond Skirmish, Ridgewar, Keep Off the Grass, Super Bridgehead, Treasure Isle, and World Map.

Now to make some truly large maps for this XD
