while I'm at it, try using chrono on three MAD tanks, put them beside enemy conyard and deploy. he, he, hehe, hehehe. The things are pretty fierce in terms of punching a hole in their infrastructure. I thought we established that you can't chrono demo trucks because they explode instantly...? MAD t...

You'd almost think there was a reason I preferred using the GDI and Allied. I've never liked doing this shit, so guess exactly what happened. May've been scarce back then, but eventually savefiles popped up for missions afterwards. If it soldiers vs soldiers, then I can understand, it IS a wargame. ...

What the hell, man. :/

Can someone just delete this thread. I think we can safely add this "mission" to 'worst decisions made in 2014'.

That might very well be true.

Just look at this very forum, just OpenRA's General Discussion and Modding get any discussion, and it's still like 5 posts a day tops.

I assume it used to be different, but I myself have only joined a short while back.

Isn't all of this just theoretical? You wanted reasons why the Longbow doesn't get buffed and basically went 'hurdur it's bleeding useless'. Maybe you've simply never faced an opponent using Longbows properly. As long as they're in the game, they are usable, and thus theoretically they could be used...

Try moving them into a Transport, then move the Transport away at the last second. Ridiculous yet amusing explosions.
..now I'm secretly hoping OpenRA also has this.. cause it's easier to test it there. XD

..you are right. I went back and tested it.

Another difference is that you could also only teleport a SINGLE unit, from what I gathered.

..and, unrelated, vehicles explode when they touch water after teleportation.

yeah but this is not a very realistic scenario... he wont attack you just with hinds more likely he will attack you with a mix of v2s, mammots, some rocket soldiers Which 'he' are you talking about now, Frost? It's still a legitimate strategy to send a bunch of Hinds in to scout or do a pre-main fo...

Here's some online articles I could find on OpenRA.

NWTV (Dutch!)
Phoronix
TotalBiscuit's review
OSAlt
Channel 9 MSDN
About.com
N4G (Although admittedly about TotalBiscuit)

I think just this small list should be enough for references, until OpenRA ends up getting more notable sources.

What we do here does not justify an encyclopedic article next to Newtons Law and the Theory of Evolution. No, I guess not. But it DOES justify an encylcopedic article next to articles about webcomics, indiegames and such.. Wikipedia has articles on pretty much anything. Don't undermine yourself by ...

Here's a fun scenario though. Imagine you're playing as Allies, and your opponent is Soviet. You know there are helicopters incoming, so you decide to build anti air. Decision 1: Hey: I can get a whole group of Rocket units! That's good. Let's do that.. AAAaand the Hinds just shot down the entire gr...

If I had the coding skills, I'd take the task on myself, but I'm a med-student, not a programmer. I'm a physicist, and Mailaender (Cmd. Matt) is a food chemist. Many of our contributors are new to C#, and have started learning specifically to get involved. You don't need to be a professional progra...

Didn't TotalBiscuit do a thing on OpenRA as well?.. Though I guess that might not be a 'credible source' either..

Maybe you could send an email to EA or post about it on the C&C forums?

It was like this in the original Red Alert expansion, too...

The reason was.. Something about the 'nuclear energy' getting disturbed by the 'chrono energy'...

So.. Boom happens.

Hmm, now I wonder, did it happen in RA2 with Libya's Demo Trucks..
