Early feedback is strong; keep it coming. Thanks to everyone taking part in these tests! I want several weeks of this first test before I issue another. (It's also pretty time consuming to make a bunch of playtest maps, I don't know how SoScared did as many as he did.) Right now I'm aiming for late ...

Replaced Pitfight with the RAGL S4 version and added Ysmir and Shadowfiend II.

Smitty's Fall 2017 Playtest
Howdy folks, it's time for another round of playtesting. The goals are the same as always: Make as many tools available as possible. Keep balance between Allies and Sovs. Make Allies vs Allies less boring. This release is going to to show us a much different game as the rules of combat itself have c...

I've had some pretty crazy games with new release and the official playtests so I'd say it's definitely not boring. I'm also hearing the exact opposite complaints which is always a good thing. Will get this season's SMT playtest out soon so we can get to work on some solutions. Just need to fiddle w...

-snip- Building a barracks doesn't make it war factory first. That makes it barracks first. OK, I see what's causing confusion here. What I was saying is that PP-RAX-REF-WF is viable vs. PP-RAX-REF-REF. You seem to be lamenting the idea that PP-REF-WF isn't viable in a situation in which you get at...

I was talking to smitty about this and th viability of other strats. The impression I got was 2refSD is the build with the most success in an equal matchup, though not without its flaws (being behind in the bigger picture if not taken advantage of). I spent that entire conversation trying to explai...

What I dont see at all in pro games is navy, spies, flamers, chinooks, chronotanks, gap genrators, migs, jammers, dogs, hijackers. Thats about 25% of all units! These are "obsolete choices" because they are not worth building in any situation. I can only afford to build those if I know beforehand t...

Concerning the voice of reason: In my oppinion the current (pro)meta is not worth keeping. It is too predictabe and stagnant. Basically there is one winning strategy and you dont even need to scout if you execute your thing well enough. Just curious, what do you think that one strategy is? I see se...

Let me elaborate on why and where GPS is causing problems. The problem isn’t just GPS being too powerful. The problem is, when GPS is up fluid gameplay becomes impossible. You simply cannot make the moves to get behind your opponent that you could before. This is bad for not just players, but also...

so i ask again, might a reduction of AA range be a step in the right direction? I tested reducing AA gun range by two cells. The feedback I got and my own play experience showed that Allies really do need a strong AA defense as they are lacking in mobile AA. (And yes, this is considering the longbo...

Agreed to remove the auto targeting. But instead the player should be able so focus fire the icons, force fire seem a bit odd when you "see" the target, can the "target" cursor appears when your mous is over an icon as it would be on a visible unit ? There's a ticket for this one as well. https://g...

as well as remove the ability of units to auto-target gps-dots under the fog of war. This would be very welcome from a code maintenance and quality perspective. The current behavior relies on a nasty low-level hack in the core engine code that I would love to be able to delete. That would be amazin...
