The Playtest Bug
Hey, I'm aware that we already got a playtest thread, but I believe this matter is very urgent and needs to be addressed asap. I've played quite a few games on the playtest now and unfortunately it's almost impossible to make out whether the intentional changes are good or not. The reason is that th...

Actually I think our opinions about that are quite similiar, I do also want maps that allow for as many strategies as possible to be viable. We should also have maps of different sizes, economy situations etc.. I'd just say that we have to eliminate the extremes, which are maps like Snow-Off, Patche...

Hey, I think whoever will be in charge of the new mappool will have to make a choice which is gonna be very siginificant for the future of RA. I get the idea of pushing new maps, more experimental maps, which can be very fun. This will however hurt the competitiveness of the league. Maps that are ve...

Hey Doomhammer, The first day has ended I got to say, it has been a very nice tournament so far. It ran extremely smooth. Also a good choice to just have a duo cast which was really good as well, gj to you and FiveAces for that. I'm really looking forward to that Smitty vs Gatekeeper match tomorrow....

I like most of the changes, but the MCV movement speed decrease really just slows the game down, and also takes a lot of options away. For instance: On a lot of maps I feel like its now mandatory to take certain expansion spots to not fall behind in economy, for example on behind the veil it's no lo...

I've played a few games on these maps I'd say that I do like most of the changes. Two things though: As we already talked about, snipers seem too powerful, almost like having a rather sleepy but still dangerous Tanya on heroin. Secondly, I think the AA-Gun should slightly outrange the SAM-Site sligh...

AoAGeneral, I got the impression that you very well know how you'd like RA to be and have good ideas how to get to that. However, some of your suggestions make me believe that you don't really know where the game is at right now. In general theres a lot of theorycrafting going on here and everyone h...

I'm afraid at some point we just need to become better players instead of blaming everything on balance or dumb AI. Recent changes have made mcv pushes significantly worse and they are not that hard to counter. This game is easy to play and it's especially easy to copy strategies/ build orders. Base...

Do you guys really believe, that 'casuals' would stop playing this game, because of some balance changes, that might encourage them to get better? People that just play the game to play it, won't even notice a difference. People that play this game casually but try to improve as well, might just wel...

The sam site vs aa gun situation is definitely awful, however I do think that if anything we should rather look into nerfing the aa gun (for example -1.5 range) instead of buffing the samsite. That would not only make the Soviets vs Allies matchup more balanced but also improve the quality of arty/h...
