FYI : OpenRg is far from dead I mostly worked past days on a spectator mode, 'semi' dedicated server support (no midgame joining though) and I just finished applying the changes needed to OpenRg :) Also, I switched to a greenish ra-dialog :P http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/main/11/3052319404...

For editing the yaml files I suggest using notepad++ (Manually select Syntax > YAML)

Ability system

I'm using the GUI from the 'Support Power' (nuke / ion / ...) system to implement

Abilities!

For a start I moved the beacon placing system to it AND implemented a mine laying ability.

(Most likely) possible reason is that you tried to play with someone who has an other (newer / older) version.

It does more than you think ;)

In renegade, once the 'barracks' are destroyed, you cant buy advanced units anymore, but you can still build the basic ones.

On 'dead' I replace it with a 'lesser' version, only allowing a subset of the infantry to still being build ;)

I added an 'Engineer' on both sides, one that can heal buildings & tanks (from outside) and also infantry, but the heal is alot slower on infantry!

I'm not entirely sure how renegade did it. Atm it is a shared pool (as in the money you see, is actually what your 'race' currently has (GDI / NOD)

OpenRA : Renegade

Hey all,

just informing you that I'm currently working on a 'conversion' of the basic Renegade gameplay to a OpenRA mode.
