Re: Creating a servers for friends

You can create your own server and password from your own computer if that helps? Just click "create".

Otherwise you'll need an actual server/access to one.

Re: Team maps Mapmaking Workshop (2v2, 3v3)

Boiling Lakes. 3vs3. Naval. Large 200x200 map. Plenty of room to move, expand and flank on forward positions.

Re: 2018 RA Balance

I think the engi changes are positive, but have some reservations. I think the mechanic 10% recovery from vehicles is nice if you don't lose the mechanic, as losing it would be a useless mechanic i think. However removing a unit (theif) and adding a new unit buff to allies is sidestepping on your ba...

Re: TD balance thread

From what i've seen people creep their original MCV towards the opponent. If the majority like these maps that encourage that play changing up the cost of defences i doubt will make much difference. Wall spam and static gun lines will still be favourable. Of all the games i've played and seen, TD gi...

Re: 2018 RA Balance

Well this kinda spells it out really, you've got people with various views who all differ, and my story is only but one. I play TD occassionally, but RA is my preference and understand it works hence not rocking the boat about the SSM or multi build tabs. You've just said it yourself regarding the b...

Re: 2018 RA Balance

The biggest issue IMO with one-sided husk capturing is that it allows Allies players in team games (with a cooperative soviet teammate) to unlock both factions technology with little risk, while soviet players have no such option. This goes a bit deeper than asymmetry, IMO. Resetting the MCV factio...

Re: 2018 RA Balance

The idea with the news post was to poll wider opinions on all of the gameplay changes, not just Hinds. Hinds are a very complicated issue, and i'm personally only mildly bothered by them (I focused on them because it is one of the biggest complaints from the wider community). My own pet peeves have...

Re: 2018 RA Balance

I'd be extremely sad if the mechanic could no longer recover husks, i think it's quite situational in 1vs1s, and generally we don't see mechanics being used to support tanks. The same applies to hijackers i feel. I'm of the opinion removing or changing these units currently won't help balance. As an...

Re: Team maps Mapmaking Workshop (2v2, 3v3)

Nice map. Reminds me of south by south west.

My 3vs3 is slowly coming along. Though it's aimed at keeping in with the style of campy/naval high tech play with a little room for army movement.

Re: [mappack] 40 Red Alert maps, converted to OpenRA

Awesome, must have missed this before.

I swear King of the Hills used to have civilians armed with weapons. And one had a nuke!

Though my memory is hazy with that.

Re: Future Improvements

No problem. Also regarding ranks etc, you'll soon work out who players are by their names in game. Most people use the same names, but some will change regulary. You'll work out who they are still by IP, playstyle, country or type of map they play. If you message me on discord i will try out sort yo...

Re: Future Improvements

-Consider doing ranks or levels, so that players can identify the skill level of other players in the lobby. This may need the creation of accounts (like Steam for example). -Modify the building section so that it looks more like the original Red Alert.(power level, money bar ...) -Allow players to...

Aren't the TD maps small and/or chokey which helps make static play more probable?
