Re: Updating RA Official Map Pool
Maps I would like to stay in and on Abcdefgs list: Climax. Last to come in, loads of positive feedback and had > 20 revisions, sketchy versions floating around. I think a Europe version should be in Official. There are many sketchy versions but also some great ones. Anal Gardens needs a new name and...

Re: Updating RA Official Map Pool
Maps to be added to the official map pool should require: - Great aesthetics - Innovative concept - Balance - Playability - Replayability - a not too offensive name... I think its not OK to add maps just because 'they play better than whats already in the pool'. I'd be carefull selecting those maps ...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 9 - Post Season Discussion
I agree with happy on every single point. Best map pool in a long time and lots of awesome games and great coverage in general . If i might suggest 2 points of improvement: - stick to the original map pool deadline. This gives players the time to practice and evaluate maps. - bottom half of minions ...

Re: advice on (un/)balancing proposed game mod
I dont think balance will be that important when there is no meta being developed by competitive players. He just wants to create options. Im not sure why you wouldnt give for example Dune or Shattered Paradise a try instead

Re: How to change map size? Under Linux.
Place the map in the Openra utility folder to avoid typing the path. Copy paste it back after resize.
I wouldnt recommend adding space to top and left too. Map editor has sufficient tooling for workarounds

Re: Map Design Contest 2018 - The Outcome
Nice work, fellow mapmakers! Congratulations to other winners! Unfortunately, I cannot claim my prize because PayPal doesn't allow receiving funds for Ukraine residents. There's simply no way for me to do it. Therefore, I'd like to donate $20 for RAGL and $25 for the next Map Design Contest. :D Hero!

And while we are doing this, implement equal black, white, yellow and hispanic soldiers. Perhaps make Tanya unisex and create 212 other factions so no nation will feel discriminated.

Re: Thoughts from a player playing Red Alert for a couple of months
Ive read through the PR. In my opinion there is a pull request to fix a legit issue, but gameplay wise its adopted by almost all of the players. Secondly: the competitive scene. I dont think anyone chooses allies for chrono ability and/or chooses Germany for its advanced Chrono shift. Therefor a ner...

Re: Thoughts from a player playing Red Alert for a couple of months
I dont think its mentioned yet: Redeployable MCVs is a checkbox in the settings. Imo the use of the Chrnosphere shouldnt be changed. But the thing the topic opener mentions is kind of relevant: - opponent can go from complete turtle into basepush on a point of his choosing completely out of nowhere....

Re: 2018 RA Balance
An easy solution would be to allow HiJackers to capture husks, as Mechanics can do. Mechanics can repair vehicles and cap husks, then hijackers could steal vehicles and cap husks. The trade off would be fair, since the hijacker is more expose to being killed, as it has to approach an enemy vehicle ...

Re: Thoughts from a player playing Red Alert for a couple of months
Dont forget he plays teamgames a lot. In teamgames the mechanics are different. Usually its rake a central position and base push from there. Allies do havr better tools for that, but thats mostly due to map design. Lots of popular maps have small chokes.

Re: Thoughts from a player playing Red Alert for a couple of months
I notice you didnt mention the Gap Gens. Any thoughts on them?
I disagree on the artillery subject. They are easy to micro in teamgames. I try never to use them. Normally players scatter a few around the aa gun and gap gen and they will automatiy be cost effective
