Re: 2022 devtest builds
Thanks for the info! I was worried the project was dead after 1.5+ years without an update

Wouldn't it be rather simple to load C&C remaster assets into OpenRA?
I'm not really advocating this.. more of just a question our of curiosity. Not sure if it would reflect poorly on OpenRA with how "nice" EA has been but I imagine it would be rather easy to port the new "HD" assets being made for C&C/RA Remastered into the OpenRA engine. Is there some kind of agreem...

Re: Balance thread for release 20190314
hi guys.. it's that time of year again. I'm back to share an important message: the hind should be returned to the soviets, along with a transport copter! I wish people would have an open minded discussion of a proper way to bring this iconic unit back to its rightful place. The OpenRA community has...

Re: Implications of the C&C Remastered collection for OpenRA
OpenRA is awesome and always will be awesome... it is a great engine in and of itself.. it offers so much potential for endless mods as well as further conversions / remakes. There is still KKND and Dark Reign conversions coming together nicely.. Progress is being made on RA2 and TS.. it has been sl...

Re: Misc thoughts
Just a bunch of thoughts I've jotted down over the time. I'm in no way a pro and I mostly play RA team matches, but these should be pretty generic: Spy power down ability . In large maps with many opponents especially it is rather easy for a player to sneak a spy into an undefended PP and it's comp...

Re: Misc thoughts
Yes, here's a suggestion I made in the discord #playtesting channel. http://i.imgur.com/qzAAioo.png The colors might not be optimal, but the idea is to : - make information more distinguishable between teams - simplify and reduce the amount of text, by regrouping similar information EDIT : for more...

Re: A Special Announcement from EA
lurker here, Registered an account just to say this: I 'd like to see a RTS with a high usage of voxels, where each pixel in a unit is a voxel. I'd also like to be able to make my own custom army, with a built in unit editor complete with voxel editor and sliders for vehicle attributes. Voxels are ...

Re: A Special Announcement from EA
I'd like to specifically re-iterate some of the points in this discussion. 1. Make it so that C&C4 had never happend. At all. 2. Make it so that C&C3 Scrin have never happened. At all. 3. Follow through on the post-Firestorm design direction on tiberium, factions, units and atmosphere. A game or re...

Re: Redesigning and Balancing TD
The delay is equal to the width of the map divided by the aircraft speed . Wider maps have longer delays. Can't we also just increase the speed of the plane? I'm not sure exactly how fast it travels now but if you push it to the brink of what is reasonable.. that should also cut down on the disadva...

Re: A Special Announcement from EA
The number one thing I want to see from a reboot is a return to plausible story telling. Red Alert was my top game as a kid, and even though you had the campy bad accents and tesla death lasers the world still felt real. I felt like I was saving Europe in the Allied campaign. RA2 broke that sense o...

Re: A Special Announcement from EA
EA has no intention of interfering with the work of OpenRA. Our hope is we can team up together to share insights, best practices, and further grow the C&C community through this initiative. Hi EA_Jimtern... welcome to the community :-). You should combine forces with pchote/sleipnir and the rest o...

Re: Mechanics, engineers and scrapping and restoring husks
As we got kinda off topic, i'd like to wishlist something that will never happen. A checkbox for "experimental/fun units".Where we would have tested and reasonably balanced extra units in fairly large numbers, like 3 extra per faction. We've seen many players bring cool units into mod maps, and Sir...

Re: Mechanics, engineers and scrapping and restoring husks
I don't get the whole staying true to the original argument, we have: unit veterancy pillbox veterancy spies that infiltrate buildings to gain unit veterancy (rather than just revealing what's currently being produced) fog of war husks mechanics hijackers flak trucks demo trucks artillery with 12 c...

Re: Mechanics, engineers and scrapping and restoring husks
I realized that the engineer PR introduced new logic that could be used to prevent vehicle movement during the final moments of hijacking, and this has now been merged to the bleed branch. This should go a long way (but probably not all the way) towards fixing the bogus hijacker behaviour. This is ...
