Yes, this is just an idea I had. I thought of this while spectating a game when I was tired. Sometimes I don't want to play because it requires high concentration and quick reaction. If there was a phase based mod, it would be possible to play in a more relaxed way.

Here's an example of a phase based game: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_...

And even though each turn would be five or ten seconds of gameplay, the actual game could be played at any pace.. Saving of game state would also be required for this to function properly. So you could save the game and continue playing at any later time.

Actually building of unlocked structures would not be needed. You would build and place buildings as in normal mode. Click on power plant, place it on map. Then refinery becomes available. Click on it place it on map. Then end your turn. And these actions would be executed during game run. This woul...

Turn based OpenRA mod

I just had an idea. It would be possible to have a turn based gameplay mode. Each turn would be a certain length of game time. So the game starts paused. Each player gives their orders and ends turn. When everyone is finished, game runs for five seconds for example and then pauses again for the next...

This engine change will make gap generators work when shroud is disabled in the lobby.
https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/pull/8792

So mobile gap gens will also work.

Great to hear! This will solve the cheating issues.
It will help.

But what if someone is copying a map that already has custom rules? Then it could just appear to be a normal version of the map in question.
What do you mean? The new map would have to have a different name.

How about this: Make map names unique. So there can be only one map with the same name.

Schefmonstah, it is clear from the replay hotze posted that you are a bad player. Your actions led to the loss of lives of servicemen and valuable equipment. You did not deploy your MCV when you had the opportunity and continued down through enemy territory. This eventually resulted in Team 1 losing...

With this PR, you can use a new OpenRA.Utility command called --replay-report to extract report files from replays in the following format:

Could be useful for tournaments.
