Spectators and lag?

Surely, an observer doesn't send data to the battlefield, and therefore shouldn't cause lag? If it could be wired so that spectators aren't needed in ping checks, or whatever, so that spectators don't impact a game, that'd be great. However, this is all assuming that it isn't that way already.

As chrisf said, the playtests are dated, so playtest 20110904 is 2011, 4th of september (ISO 8601 international standard of dating, favoured by computers and asian culture). As for dune working here; not impossible, but requires some dedicated time, which i can't blame the dev team for not doing, as...

Erm... Harrison has made a few SHPs, whether he's willing to distribute and/or cater your needs is a different matter. I'm assuming he would, but i don't know. Raminator is making his own showcase, but i think he's using SHPs from other games. Ask either of those guys, but i'm pretty useless here.

Bug?

You can build on bridges... whether thats a bug, or a version thing...

Nevertheless, with an iron curtain, you have a floating tesla coil, packed with awesomeness.

Civillians do no damage whatsoever...

no tanks autorepair...

Civ. buildings don't destroy...

Buildings could always be grouped...

Erm, i need to use the bugtracker... I may be repeating others.

I tried. I managed to clone the M1Carbine, and alter it into a sniper rifle ish thing. I called it sniper, for simplicity's sake. Creating the unit, however, did not work. i cloned the E1, named it EI, changed the M1Carbine to Sniper, and it did not work whatsoever. It loaded to get the splash scree...

Running OpenRA on a PPC mac

Yep, split from the gentoo thread, for my silly off topicness.

Sliepnir got it runnig on a Powerbook, now is it possible on an iBook? The main problem is that it's on Tiger 10.4, whether that will affect it or not. 1GB ram. Let me know if there's an older version, or a workaround.

Yup, read that it was intel macs and cried a little inside. Contrariwise, I use VPC7 to play real RA, so its fine. As for my MPB, I use OpenRA, so there's a little RA everywhere on my macs.

Ah right, excuse my naivety. I probably will try out some unstable playtests, but would be in vain, both me and Sliepnir have macbook pros. (unless he doesn't have the 2.66 MHz 15"). Unless a univeral source will be released for my iBook G4! (edit) A non intel structure, is what i mean. Was there an...

Sorry for being stupid, but what is this about? I understand Gentoo is to do with linux, but that is all.

My interpretation is that ddd is testing alpha builds. Is that right? If so, I'd like to test too! If not, sorry.

But i like that about RA1. It means the architecture is more realistic. Yes, its a warbase, but will all buildings face the same direction?

Implementing new units

The main problem (IMO) with RA is the lack of power to infantry. It's literally tanks or die. Moreso in OpenRA, when infantry does even less vs tanks. I'd like to propose a few units. Sniper (infantry image) tanya high anti infantry power, super high range, and slightly higher power vs tanks. super ...

Good job Harrison, nice isometrics. Can I ask, what is the bottom right building?
Can the engine use isometrics, though? If so, then we can have RA3D and RA vanilla. Tanks and infantry will be a bit harder though.

Holy, I look forward to your mod. It'd be nice to have a third mod to the engine.
