Colored Trees + Colored Ground

Maps with theme templates (colored trees + weather)

You can now set a hex color (like FF0000) inside the yaml to generate a color.
I've set up the general structure / template, as well as some theme examples (BW, blossom, fall, green, rain, rainbow)

By using hex colors, you have the freedom to set any color. I've setup 12 primary colors (hues) + black and white. (see the "rainbow" map)
And you can generate gradients by overlaying transparent palettes.
For instance : purple + shades of white = purple gradient (blossom)

( I don't know if it uses much more computing power to use transparent overlays. If it's the case, you can later manually set up your own shades when you're happy with the result. )

NEW: I also made some custom colored grounds : one colored Fall ground , and one Black&White theme (only the player's colors appear)

It was easier than expected to modify it. You just need to place a modified temperat.pal file in the root of the map.
You can modify the palette with OS Palette Editor (https://gamebanana.com/tools/3696)

This seems very promising! A good deal more variety in map embellishments.

Can’t tell much from the pictures though, they have a very bad resolution. Can you upload a better shot?

looks pretty good. Great work! Any way to add these tree sprites to game with saving compatibility in multiplayer game?

There are no new sprites, it's only yaml code.
And it works as any mod map in multiplayer, no problem :)

Just take any theme you like, open the .oramap, take the files needed. And add the Rules: (and Sequences: in case of a SNOW map) in the map.yaml.

Thank you!!

I want chernobyl maps based on this, HELL-maps, more volcano maps, snowstorm winterwar maps, desert, jungle and black and white maps.
This is really cool, and we need more stuff like this to make better and more visually maps. (I still dream of getting all the TTDLX resources easy availible to insert into maps..(Oilplatforms))
The urban maps will also be nice.

And in the future I want to have the "same" things on all themes, so i'ts easy to change from etc. desert to jungle, etc..

I think this is awesome! I'd love some more variation in OpenRA maps.

I like the orange one! It reminds me of ion storms in TS. Or even has a sunset/sunrise look to it!

I want some to be able to plant trees on some maps, but enemy should be able to burn them down..
(One step closer to Sims)

-Build ref, silo, trees, silo, turret, blue tree, etc...
