I think the beach needs to be in 3 separate brushes or tiles. ocean to sand, sand, and sand to grass tiles. This will allow the level editor decide on the width of the beaches and have a more organic approach.
If you guys can pull of a full fledged theater for jungle and tropical beach lines, that would be amazing.

if we talk about "civilian" buildings in that ... instead of using the "temperate" or "desert buildings" ... we should head for "new" stuff ...

IMO it's too bright. I'd go slightly more darker thing, here:

It is very hard to actually get some artwork done since there is no actual palette made for the jungle theater but you get the idea.
