Has this ever been considered for the game?
One way to handicap, of course, is to play a 2 v 1 game.
But maybe you could have a feature where certain players could buy things cheaper, and get faster build times. Or maybe even start off with twice as much cash, or have units do more damage than the same units on the other side.
There are going to be a lot of players that can't really play together in competitive 1 v 1 games. This could maybe make some games more interesting.
Handicapping
Re: Handicapping
It could also work for 2 v 1 games where the "by himself" player could have a certain advantage to help him against his two opponents. So doesn't just have to be for weak players.
Re: Handicapping
Starting with 2 MCVs could be one thing.
There's been some discussion of this at #6103.

I was thinking about playerratings, using some kind of ELO-system.
Personally I like such a feature and it would allow peole to estimate what kind of handicap would work (or auto-handicap).
But there are some big disadvantages:
- people not wanting low rated people in their team or people who refuse to play strong players
- some kind of account would be needed where everything is recorded. This might limit possibilities to be anonymous.
