I keep wanting to say... why dont Yaks (& Migs) have Air to Air capabilities. It seems that it's been discussed extensively before, so no one wants to talk about it, but I haven't seen those discussions, so could someone fill me in as to why that is the case? Would be awesome to have plane dog figh...

For now, I will just briefly point out where the problem is. Why do you feel the need a unit equal to destroyer? I tell you: the thing that bothers all player in navy war is not really the navy itself. But rather the combination of helicopters + destroyers, while soviets can't combine planes + subs...

Capturing in RA you can't sell your buildings or move them. They are locked in place unless they manage to sell before the capture timer goes on. Yes I believe that I also recently found out your Construction Yard is "locked" while it is in the process of getting captured. I had a Pillbox ready to ...

Ok so hilariously enough, I just played a game where we are fighting over the oil derricks. So I showed up to engage his army as he currently controls the derrick. I target a group of his infantry and the unit I clicked to attack dies. So what does my entire squad decide to do? Start shooting the oi...

Why do units automatically shoot at an enemy oil derrick?
Am I the only one that has been frustrated by this? In my opinion, your units should NOT fire at captured neutral/civilian buildings on their own (without an explicit instruction to attack) no matter what.. In most cases, I would say the average player in the average situation does NOT want to destr...

@blackened: ok to everything you said. looking forward to sub transports :) The C) or "double shot issue" is about something different: If you attack a ground target with the destroyer stinger and then retarget (for example by pressing "S") onto an air target, the destroyer instantly shoots again. ...

Since we are throwing some radical ideas out there, how about we give the Soviets GDI's hovercraft from Tiberian Dawn as a buildable unit. You can use it to transport troops or vehicles... And whatever is your cargo can shoot while in transport.. So you can load a flak track onto it and it becomes a...

Hi again, I gathered some feedback 4 Games on Bombardment island (because it is popular and has low eco->balance issues show easily) First, oppinion of other people: g1 - no feedback g2 - "did you nerf subs?"," was there any change?" (obviously supernoobs) g3 - not much feedback g4 - "subs cant kil...

Please don't even bother with the "features" units or anything whatsoever from Yuri's Revenge. Yuri's revenge added in a bunch of lame stuff that completely unbalanced the game. Those "bunch of lame features" are what made Yuri's Revenge among the most modded C&C game, with the modding scene still ...

What I can add is that by the time TS will be available, the engine will also be closely capable of handling RA2 - most of the RA2 (and YR) features were crappy alterations of TS ones (Ion Storms to weapon storms, Ion Cannon to Genetic Mutator, bouncing to shrapnel). The main issue of RA2 is that i...

I'm very glad to see a project to balance out Allied vs Soviet navy, but I think it shouldn't stay just to the naval units. You could literally give the Soviets a Gun Boat, Destroyer and Cruiser instead of what they have now, start up a game of 3 Allies vs 3 Soviets on Bombardment Islands, and it w...

maybe I just suck as an allies player, but subs are great at controlling the water. If you use them properly, using their submerged stealthiness to your advantage, they are great. Even the GPS doesn't expose them. The missle sub is great in OpenRA, being able to shoot air as well as land targets. If...

Re: Is OPENRA_DISPLAY_SCALE a cheat?
I've noticed that in Linux version I can set this variable to whatever value that I want in order to get what ever zoom level that I want. This allows me to play the entire game zoomed out, reducing the need for a radar or for something similar. Doesn't this give me an unfair advantage? If you want...
