The problem with just nerfing the AA gun is that it still leaves the sam horrible.
It takes 2 sam sites to hold an area as effective as 1 AA gun. Maybe drawing down AA gun range to 8c0 and increasing sam range to 8c512 would be a better compromise.

Oh dear. Here I was thinking the same thing. Is it a good idea to have so many playtests running concurrently? Would it be better to add them all into a single unified playtest or would that make some changes rarely seen in gameplay?Smitty wrote: ↑ I was considering making a playtest myself after the release.

I think this idea is certainly worth exploring further. I also think you outlined the major issues this addition would cause but I'd like to add the lack of stable soviet vision providers as another reason for possible imbalance. it takes 5 seconds for a sniper to recloak and that really isn't a lot...

Cheeky bugger thought you could just hide this down in modding and get away with it eh? Medics/Mechanics – vision range 4, up from 3 I have reservations about this change. Allies already have the better early game infantry with how tanky medics are plus their obvious healing ability. Mammoth Tank ...

Simple question: I was modding a map from a 2v2 map into a competitive 1v1 map. It was a map from the mapcontest (I did not make the original but gained permission to edit it). I was watching a bot game to check out the dynamics and Rush AI just started burning down trees with a bunch of flamethrow...

I know it's frustrating but most of those threads won't amount to anything but brainstorming. Anything that actually does come from it can face swift criticisms on why it is good or bad. Plus any actual change is going to have to go through github and so far the people over there are very cautious a...

People can give their opinions regardless of whether it's going to make a difference. There is every reason to bring it back up *if you just feel like offering an opinion on it*. Who gives a fuck? I have to disagree. Opinions should be at least cursorily researched. Uninformed opinions don't add an...

Dogs tend to have a few different problems. 1) they tend to eat each other if you have multiple ones attack a unit. 5 dogs can become 1 in an instant. 2) sometimes they bug out. They either won't move and attack the unit they see or they will miss and warp around. 3) dog vs dog often becomes a game ...

Does it have a history of great games? Like Omnom said this method works but relies on a map having some sort of establishment. for all we know showdown could be the next ore lord. But no one has played it and we may never know. Maps need multiple play throughs to be vetted and a lot of the games m...

First I would like to point out that it is quite annoying when players use abbreviations for maps. I was able to figure out that DCF means Dual Cold Front but I have no idea what Omnom means with DNC. I honestly think that's a typo and meant to be DCF and if its not then your guess is as good as mi...
